Under: Rising Above Updates
So I just wanted to write a quick update on what is going on with RAM. As you know, the first issue is available for download and it's free to download. You can download it at http://stores.lulu.com/risingabove or at www.lulu.com/content/4327096 (type either one into your web browser as it won't work if you try to click on it from myspace; it will say the page doesn't exist or give a warning about leaving myspace to follow the link). We are accepting submissions for the November issue. If you want to submit something for the November issue, please send it to jklinch_risingabove@yahoo.com by the last week of October since I work on putting the issues together at the end of each month so they are ready to come out the beginning of the next month. We are always looking for and accepting submissions for the magazine. So if you have anything you would like to submit, please feel free to send it in; we always love hearing from our readers.
Secondly, from now until end of January I will be accepting letters for the Letters From Survivors Book Project that Rising Above is doing. For those of you who are new to our site and may not know what this project is, I will quickly sum it up for you. The Letters From Survivors Book Project is something I have started that gives survivors a chance to write a letter to other survivors, to themselves, or to their abuser and have it published in a book I am putting together. You do not have to use your real name. Also, you can be the parent of a survivor or the spouse of a survivor and participate in this project as well. I have found that writing letters is such a good way to release my feelings and emotions and it allows me to see how far I have come in my life and how much I have healed. I will work on a release form giving permission to use your work for those of you who are wondering about that. You don't have to worry about spelling because I will be doing spell check and I will only be editing for punctuation and grammar, nothing else. There's no word limit to the letter that you write, either. So if you are interested in participating in this project, please send all letters to me at jklinch_risingabove@yahoo.com. I think this is a great opportunity for survivors to share their story with other survivors out there and give them encouragement as well as help get emotions and feelings that have been locked inside.
Also, I am looking for more writers for Rising Above so if you are interested in joining our staff, visit our website, www.risingabovemagazine.com and fill out the writer's application we have on there. If there are any teens interested in working on a teen column for Rising Above, let me know. One of my staff members, Glenda, came up with a good idea about having a teen section featured in Rising Above. Since we do have teens on here, it would be neat to have a section in there for teens. So if any teens are interested, let me know.
If you have any suggestions for ways we can improve the magazine or anything you wish to see added in there, please let us know. We would love to hear your feedback, comments and suggestions. Again, if you have any questions about anything at all, feel free to contact me at jklinch_risingabove@yahoo.com. Thank you guys for all your support and encouragement. We appreciate it!

I love to write and this is my blog where I write about issues that we survivors face on a daily basis as well as my own personal experiences that I have been through in my life. I find writing to be good therapy for me because it allows me to release all those feelings and emotions I have kept locked inside for years. These are my messages to inspire and encourage other victims and survivors out there to let them know they are not alone.
